Olympia Park. The school, formerly called Jack and Jill,
was opened in the early 70s. Its new name bestowed to
emphasize the commitment to allowing the Son of God shine
in all its educational activities.
The
Sonshine School is committed to the vision of its host
church. We do not waver in our efforts to provide quality
education for children from all backgrounds in society.
By
providing a Christian learning atmosphere, we seek to
preserve morals of growing children, as well as minister
to the needs of the parents of those children.
During
the first 18 years of its history, the school functioned
as a nursery. In 1997, the first grade-one class was
introduced. The school has since grown significantly in size and
capacity. The current enrollment is 300 pupils, and the
curriculum now accommodates students up to the seventh
grade.
The curriculum is designed to ensure that our pupils meet
the standards of modern education, are adequately
prepared to enter institutions of higher education, and
can compete in varied academic circles. We offer among
other subjects, French, computer, and physical education.
Our reading program has been upgraded, and utilizes the
Oxford Reading Tree and the Lady Bird Scheme as core
readers.
Sonshine School will For parents who feel that the
declining moral standards of our society makes it to find
a conducive environment in which their children can
learn, the is the solution.
The Sonshine School’s plans for the future include the
enhancement of our computer facilities, expansion into a
full-blown 2-phase primary section, and eventually, the
development of a secondary school. |
