Intercessory
Ministry
The Ministry prays and intercedes for the Church, the
nation and the world at large as the need arises.
Specifically, the ministry undertakes the following:
-
Weekly prayer meetings on
Saturday from 09:00 hours. These are for all believers
to unite in prayer for the Church and the nation and to
share various matters of concern. Occasionally, the
Ministry also uses these meetings to teach on prayer
and intercession.
-
Sunday intercession.
Members pray for God’s blessing during the Sunday
services.
-
Prayer Chain. This starts
from 20:00 hours up to 06:00 hours and involves all
members of the Ministry praying at different times
during this time period. The goal is to ensure that
there is at least an intercessor praying every hour.
-
Weeklong prayer and fasting
chain. Every member participates in prayer and fasting
on different days throughout the week.
Married Couples Ministry
The goal of the ministry is to promote strong and
healthy marriages in the Church. Such marriages form a
solid foundation for the Church and testify to the work
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Ministry organises a
monthly meeting/function for married couples in the
Church and is involved in hospitality for visitors on
Sundays. Discussions groups meet regularly to consider
various subjects and distributes books to deepen members’
understanding of issues.
The Ministry is involved in
pre-marital counselling of couples planing to get married
and trains its own members to be effective counsellors..
Music Ministry
The Ministry currently has three choirs:
the Sanctuary Choir, the Living Praise
Tabernacle Choir, and the Christ’s
Ambassadors Choir.
The Living Praise

the Land by Reaching Unreached Peoples and
Nations. The Choir has, in the past, undertaken a
missions trip to Malawi where they ministered in
song in churches, concerts, crusades, and special
events. Their music regularly features on the
Malawi Broadcasting Corporation.
Currently, the Choir
has outstanding invitations from local churches,
religious organisations, foreign ministries to
minister. Notably, they have been invited to
minister in Botswana, South Africa, India, and
the Women’s Aglow International
Conference that was held in Lusaka in September
2000.
The Choir holds
overnight prayer meetings every fortnight for its
members and a general prayer meeting on selected
weekdays. This has resulted in a remarkable
improvement in individual prayer lives.
The Choir is planning
to record three albums this year from its own
song compositions.

God. It is presently undergoing a recruitment
drive for new members. Twenty have been added

The Christian
Education Ministry
The Ministry primarily exists to make
disciples, baptise them in the Name of our Lord
Jesus and teach them the truth (Matthew
28:19-20). Furthermore, the Ministry exists to
equip the Christian for ministry and leadership –
the starting point being the Word of God. The
Ministry organises the following programmes:
-

targets new converts and standing believers ho
have not yet been baptised. The class runs for
four weeks at the end of which the candidates
are ready to undergo water baptised.

other churches who wish to become members. The

after which successful candidates are welcomed
as full disciples and issued with a certificate

the Ministry. The desk also serves as an
administrative point for processing membership
applications.

The Bible Study is held between 10:15-10:45
hours every Sunday and covers contemporary
biblical issues.

Paseli Gospel
Theatre
The mission of the Ministry is to assist the
Church in interpreting the vision of ‘Possessing
the Land by Reaching Unreached Peoples and
Nations’ through drama. This is done through
participation in missions outreach activities in
other churches and the Midlands Mission Committee
of PAOG-Zambia. The Ministry has since been
elevated to serve at national level on the
National Missions Board of PAOG-Zambia. Cognisant
of the potential misunderstanding that the
Ministry exists to entertain and not minister,
the Ministry strictly adheres to the principle of
sola scriptura in its presentations.
The Ministry
organises prayer meetings and Bible studies for
its twenty members. In addition, it has
introduced theatre clinics for individuals
interested in improving their artistic skills.
Evangelism and
Follow-up
The mission of the ministry is based on II
Corinthians 5:18, "All this is from God who
reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave
us the ministry of reconciliation." The Ministry
is involved in evangelism, follow-up,
discipleship, and leadership training. The main
activities of the Ministry are:
-
Follow-up and
Visitation. New members and first-time visitors
are visited and encouraged in their homes.
Letters are also written to individuals.
-
Prayer and Fasting.
This is arranged for every first Saturday of
the month.
-
Missions Outreach.
The Ministry undertakes missions trips in
support of the Church’s vision. In the past,
the Ministry has visited Chirundu, Chiawa, and
Mungwi and has worked with the Chawama Assembly

Men’s Fellowship
In keeping with its motto of "Every Man for
Every Ministry", the Ministry has re-organised
itself and elected an interim executive committee
to spearhead its activities. The Ministry’s focus
is:
-
Missions Outreach.
This is aimed at reaching men in the Church who
have not committed themselves to God and also
men in the professional and work environment.
-
Projects. The
Ministry assists in renovations to the Church
building and is overseeing efforts to build a
new Church.
-
Special Events.
These have been aimed at fostering fellowship
and outreach among men. Such events have
included a men’s hunting camp (dubbed
"Operation Kudu"), and a fishing day.
-
Family Building. In
collaboration with the Marrieds Ministry, the
Men’s Fellowship organises training and
counselling sessions for young married men and
those soon to get married. The Fellowship also
hosts Bachelors’ Parties for prospective
grooms.
Ushers’ Ministry
Consisting of thirty members, the Ministry’s
aim is to provide a supportive environment at
Church for the enjoyment of worship. This entails
ensuring that the environment is disturbance free
for unhindered worship and preaching of God’s
Word. The Ministry currently has thirty members
and meets every last Sunday of the month to pray
for the Church and to exhort one another. The
Ministry is organised in four sub-committees:
prayer, social, and maintenance.
Children’s
Ministry
The Ministry’s mission is to impact young
children with the Word of God. It caters for
young people between 2-18 years old. Headed by a
Deacon, the Ministry is run by an executive
committee composed of Sunday School teachers and
headed by a Superintendent.
The curriculum covers
foundational topics like the Holy Bible, God,
Salvation, the Trinity, Water Baptism, the Lord’s
Supper, etc. Periodically, the children conduct
creative arts and performances in Church on
Children’s Sunday, Easter and Christmas. On
Children’s Sunday, certificates are awarded to
children who have shown outstanding skill in
Bible knowledge and their parents honoured.
The ministry also
organises social outings to foster friendships
among the children and their teachers. Individual
classes also arrange their own social events from
time to time.
Christ’s
Ambassadors (CA) Ministry
The mission of the Ministry is to empower
young people with biblical knowledge in order to
help them understand and fulfil their calling and
purpose in life. This enables them to create a
solid foundation for their future and to better
plan for their lives.
The Ministry meets
every Saturday for outdoor outreach. All youths
in the Church are involved in reaching out to the
lost and ministering to the needy. This is done
through hospital and orphanage visitations,
door-to-door evangelism, and interactions with
the less privileged, such as street children. On
Tuesday, the Ministry meets for teaching and
practical ministry.
The CA Drama
Ministry, started in 1997, aims to reach the lost
through drama, dance and poetry, and to encourage
the Body of Christ. The group ministers in
college and university campuses and in other
churches. In future, the group plans to produce a
video drama to be shown on national television
and audio facilities for recording songs.
Women’s Ministry
One of the largest ministries in the Church,
with over 200 members, the Women’s Ministry
endeavours to address the needs of women. The
Ministry is organised around several departments,
namely Hospitality and Care, Young Girls,
Fundraising, Church Cleaning, Counselling,
Visitation, and Ushering.
The Ministry meets
every Thursday morning for Bible Study and on the
first Saturday of the month for general meetings.
In addition, the Ministry organises ‘Soup Days’
once every month for street children and other
disadvantaged children around the Northmead area.
The Ministry also meets for Bible Study every
week with Tasintha, an NGO working to reform
female sex workers. Periodically, the Ministry
organises resources to bless the homes of the
Church and Fellowship pastoral staff through
‘kitchen mending’, showers, and purchase of
groceries. |
